In the caption accompanying the Walters commission, Miller suggested that if an Indian had to choose between his wife and his horse,
we opine that the horse would be the first choice. He has some little show of reason for this, for what could he do without this noble and useful animal? Many a Buffalo and bear has he aided his hard master in overtaking & conquering. Many a time and oft has he brought him with a whole skin out of his manifold difficulties and rascalities, frequently indeed when he was far from deserving such good offices.
