In 1850 Miller painted a large oil version of Indians Tantalizing a Wounded Buffalo for B&O Railroad president and later Maryland governor Thomas Swann, who collected several of Miler’s paintings including Indian Village (CR #171A) and Buffalo Hunt (CR #367B).
